Shirley’s book for librarians is now available. She co-wrote the book with Anastasia Suen. Teaching STEM and Common Core with Mentor Texts: Collaborative Lesson Plans, K-5, ABC-Clio.

Shirley is a poet now! She wrote five science poems and edited science content in The Poetry Friday Anthology for Science by Sylvia Vardell and Janet Wong.
   
She wrote eight books for grades K-3 for the Rourke series, Seasons of the Biomes. She also wrote Cells (in the series The Science of Life) with ABDO.

Shirley participated in the 2013 Librarians’ Choices Book Review Committee.
